Semantic Restructuring is the pursuit of enlightenment, enlivenment, empowerment through the creative re-arranging of the building blocks of meaning. For a better description, Start Here.

The Extended Patterns

This script is presented in two formats for easier analysis; the first is a simple paragraph format. The second version has one pattern example per line, with a number corresponding to a list of patterns below. One way to gain some facility with these patterns is simply to practice reading the run-on version of the script as many times and as many different ways as you can come up with. Each variation will give you that much more command of the patterns at the unconscious level of language use. Since it is also worthwhile to work through the patterns one-by-one you might find alternating between the versions even more valuable.

Starting Where You Are

In this first example all the patterns are run together with no punctuation at all, but there is a reason for this: One of the most valuable tools in hypnotic language is creating ambiguity, and one of the easiest ways to do that is by blurring then end of one phrase and the beginning of another. The challenge, with the text below, is to read it out loud and try to make it sound as sensible as possible, even though you know it's just one silly long run-on sentence. This is an exercise not just in recognizing and talking about these patterns, but a hands-on way to learn to actually use them naturally --- by working with them in such an unnatural format and reading them as compellingly, soothingly, meaningfully as possible. Also, where a word or phrase is marked out ^like this^ try raising the pitch of your voice but without disrupting the flow of the reading. Phrases marked _like this_ are meant to be read with a lowered pitch, perhaps also with a lowered volume.

You could be anywhere and wouldn't you still be able to start where you are? Wouldn't that still be possible, even if you didn't like where you were? Because you are somewhere, where ever you are, how ever you feel about the places you are, in your life, in your carreer, in your relationships; wherever you are and whatever you mean by the phrase, "Here I am" when you say it, that is the place where you are on your path to the future you are choosing to build for your life. Whether you are starting anew or continuing some exciting existing plan of action, you are where you are, and it is from where you are, with what you have, knowing whom you know, these are the current conditions from which you are growing the success and prosperity you seek and deserve. 1.)Acknowledging starting points will help you on your way; _for_ 2.)if you ^really^ weren't just where you are you would surely ^want^ to still start where you were rather than delaying even a second longer. _Th'rea_l point is that you come to 3.)recognize that whatever you are trying to accomplish, whatever you are trying to build, however you wish to change your life for the better, all of those efforts will include, can't not exist in relationship _to_ the present moment. 4.)Now is clearly part of then, and your starting point is clearly part of your goal. 5.)Seeing _one_'s way to a goal will wisely include the very ground on which your feet and future are currently planted. 6.)Beginnings are such wonderful opportunities, and isn't each moment, now, another beginning, in some fashion, if we choose, with your conscious or your unconscous, to make it so. 7.)What your current circumstances provide are the initial raw materials and assets from which you will build and grow into the future of comfort and joy and ease and reward that is the natural outgrowth of planting these suggestions for prosperity and abundance in your unconscious. 8.)conscious and un, like the song on your lips and the answer on the tip of your tongue, ideas come to you from these words and so many other sources of guidance for good in and around you. 9.)And so, now, mightn't you benefit from taking the time, now, to begin seeing how you can take the time, now, to begin seeing how you can connect where you are now with where you are aiming your life to be? 10.)And unless you can come up with better ways to get where you are aiming to get you might as well let your imagination begin providing you with foreknowledge of what you will see and hear and feel when you achieve the things you are working to achieve. 11.)Because ^some^ imaginations, like yours, will gladly help us achieve what we aim for by filling in missing details if the imaginer were looking to fill in the details of how to achieve achievments such as yours. 12.)And, now, it's good to know your imagination of your achievment is as important as the marvelous value gained from not needing to imagine your starting point because you have opened to understanding and accepting your starting conditions. 13.)After all, you're starting where you are to your future, for your future, as your future becomes present reality. 14.)And you might wonder, really, is the clarity, the grounding, the being in tune with the facts of your starting from where you are more important? 15.)Couldn't a trusted guide or advisor, starting where you are, say to you, in whatever manner would have the best results for you consciously or un, "Where you are is really a great place to start because all you have to do is imagine arriving at your goal and then take one step, even a small one, toward that achievement." 16.)You might even hear those words from time to time in your own voice. 17.) Because surely where you are is as good a place from which to _begin making consistent incremental steps_ toward your desired future, at least as good, as any place you're not, of only because it is where you are. 18.)*# And isn't it so that _you will achieve your dreams_ as an extension of where you are at this moment? 19.)There's really nothing at all odd about learning to _see how_ your dreams, your achievments, _your_ winning _future grows_ from your current circumstance, from your current assets, _from your current relationships. 20.)Your current relationships are an important factor in determining a vialbe first step or next step, don't you think? 21.)How can you _determine your first step_ without a clear, solid knowledge of where you are? 22.)But just paying a little extra attention to the realities of opportunity and obstacle at hand means you are better prepared to deal wisely with both, with either. 23.)Looking around and clearly understanding where you are is like saying, "I care enough about the future, my future, the goals and hopes and aspirations in my mind, I care enough about them am motivated enough by them to take stock of where I am and build from what is at hand a catapult, a launching pad, to propel me to the future I so crave." 24.)Saying that to yourself, or anything like it, makes parts of your being rearrange to better and more wisely incorporate the elements of today, of undeniable and inescapable reality into your plans for achievment and achieving the future you thirst for. 25.)Anyone who starts where they are can get where they want. 26.)And it is the wonder, the wonderfulness, if there were such a word, of the future you can have that compels us to learn how the things before our eyes, in arm's reach, how they can help us move into that future second by second, decision by decision. 27.)So starting here is truly better. 28.)That's probably why everyone understands ^why^ you are beginning to _take more interest_ in your immediate circumstances...^because^ of how they fit with your aims for a better future. 29.)And mightn't it be worth doing even if some people didn't completely understand? 30.)There are things you can sense in your immediate surroundings and things you maybe hear or feel or see. 31.)Those sensations, those experiences of how others perceive you become part of current conditions. 32.)Thre's no getting around that rain or shine the streets run where they run and the weather only affects how you travel, not where. 33.)Quite a few of the facts of your current conditions can easily be recognized as contributing to the future you _desire_ to craft and create for yourself and the ones you love. 34.)And how different a world it would be if the same weren't true of those conditions less easily recognized as contributing to the future you desire to craft and create for yourself and the ones you love. 35.)Even seeming obstacles are part of the current reality from which you are creating the achievements you crave. 36.)Maybe you don't normally think of obstacles as friends. 37.)But you can begin recognizing how even those friendly obstacles are part of your start for the future of prosperity and abundance waiting to surprise and delight you as it unfolds moment by moment on the foundation of this very moment and those exact obstacles. 38.)You certainly don't have to overlook those friendly obstacles. 39.)Even an obstacle should be taken into account as part of how you are getting from here to there. 40.)If you should hapen to wonder exactly how even seeming obstacles are your friends then just spend a little more time really imagining the goals you hope to fulfill, because seeing that future clearly and convincingly will let you see how overocming those obstacles provided exactly the actions and learning without which you would not have fulfilled the goal you ar envisioning as complete and fulfilled. 41.)So maybe it's enough to ^care^ about incorporating those obstacles and especially the resources you'll acquire in surmounting them. 42.)Prosperity in Abundance. 43.)Prosperity as more than prospering, abundance as more than having more than enough. 44.)There's the reason not to worry for starters about too much more than starting, where you are, toward where you _want_ to be. 45.)And your creative faculties can build your new reality from where you are, ____, in amazing ways. 46.)Which is part of why parts of you might be beginning to want to know better just what is it with which you desire to beautify your life and being. 47.)How else can you pick a good first step? 48.)How else can you sidetrack from your former future? 49.)How else to jump the old rails? 50.)Get on the tracks that lead to where you want to be! 51.)Look again on the horizon for the destination you want to reach. 52.)Renew your aim, from the ground zero of hear, now, to the way you want to be there, then. 53.)You can even just pick the first thing that comes to mind about the place where you are and contemplate a little more deeply how it can be made part of how you get to the abundance and prosperity you are traveling to. 54.)Pause now to really think, contemplate, ponder, be open to. 55.)And let yourself keep on thinking, contemplating, pondering, opening to goodness and abundance and prosperity that flow from your immediate reality through the magic of your conscious and your creative protective unconscious into the kind of future you genuinely crave. 56.)Because, obviously, you might as well recognize that if you ^really^ weren't already on that path then where you are wouldn't be exactly what it is right now. 57.)So you can come to even more fully appreciate the growing comfort of your acceptance of where you are as the best place for you to start now. 58.)And then just how much does it matter where you might have thought you should start from when you can get where you want to be from where you are? 59.)In fact you could pretty well have realized I will be suggesting to all that is good in you that since it took your whole life to get exactly where and how you are starting right now perhaps it really _is_ the best possible place from which to begin. 60.)Starting right where you are is best. 61.)You can't start anywhere else, you can only not know you have started, not know that you start anew and afresh each moment. 62.)You can, however, instead notice with growing approval that each now is a new start. 63.)Each now is new, and as...a rock expands and contracts imperceptibly with the summer's heat and the winter's freeze each now expands and contracts to incorporate all your starts and all your finishes and especially the abundace and prosperity towards which _you_ are growing. 64.)Happily your nows _are_ connected with your thens, and each affords the opportunity to choose the thens you'll meet. 65.)So many of the wonderful opportunities that await you are already entwined in the now of where you are starting from. 66.)And so you only need re-open to all of the reality of where you are to ensure gettting to where you want to be. 67.)Isn't building abundance and prosperity absolutely worth taking into account the full reality of where you are starting from?

*Again, what relationship to these & prepositions?
#I don't think this use of "as" really fits the pattern.

Starting Where You Are, revisited

Next you have a numbered list of the phrases in the run-on version, one phrase per line. You can use this list to refer back to the names of the various patterns as a way to learn to talk about the patterns, to possibly recognize patterns in isolation when listening to others speak or when reading. Again, going back and forth between the two presentations of these patterns is probably more valuable than focusing on just one. On the other hand, if you have to choose between being able to use the patterns as opposed to simply talking about them, you might be better served to spend more time and energy on reading the run-on version meaningfully.

11.) Because ^some^ imaginations, like yours, will gladly help us achieve what we aim for by filling in missing details if the imaginer were looking to fill in the details of how to achieve achievments such as yours.

13.) After all, you're starting where you are to your future, for your future, as your future becomes present reality.

34.) And how different a world it would be if the same weren't true of those conditions less easily recognized as contributing to the future you desire to craft and create for yourself and the ones you love.
35.) Even seeming obstacles are part of the current reality from which you are creating the achievements you crave.

38.) You certainly don't have to overlook those friendly obstacles.
39.) Even an obstacle should be taken into account as part of how you are getting from here to there.

Here is the list of the patterns by name, in the order in which they appear in the script. You can navigate back and forth from the sample sentence to the name of the pattern using the links. It really isn't as important to know the names of the patterns as to be comfortable using them, but many people have found it worthwhile to do both. There are other things going on with this script as presented which might seem obvious to your or might be unclear. Your questions and comments are quite welcome. You can use the email address at the bottom of this page to let me know what is on your mind.
